About our service

Selecting the best accommodation

Looking forward to comfortable, relaxing accommodation at the end of the day and enjoying it when you get there is an essential ingredient in all our holidays. Including old coaching inns, relaxing country hotels and well positioned seafront hotels, our accommodation has been chosen for its character, comfort and friendly atmosphere. All accommodation:- includes a bathroom en-suite is provided on a bed and breakfast basis, giving you the flexibility to choose where and when to eat in the evenings. Evening meals are available in most hotels and inns. For those wishing to eat out we provide advice on the best places to eat within a short walk of your accommodation. The wide range of cycling and walking routes on offer means that it is not possible to detail all of the accommodation used. We are happy to discuss over the phone or by email the accommodation available for the particular tour that interests you.

Transporting your luggage for you

This service is a key part of making sure you have a really enjoyable, relaxing walking holiday, travelling light with just the bare essentials - camera, book, picnic etc. In the morning, we pick up your bags containing anything that you do not need during the day and we'll have them waiting for you by late afternoon at your next night's halt. We've even been known to pick up the odd antique or case of local wine that our customers have bought on their way!

Preparing the most attractive and interesting routes

You will find a wide variety of tours in this website, from 3 days (2 nights) to 9 days (8 nights), some ideal for the occassional walker, others more challenging. Each route has been carefully selected to take you to the most interesting sites in the area:- beautiful quiet countryside, village greens and market squares, thatched pink washed cottages and oak beamed inns, historic castles and wonderful churches - there is something special to discover around every corner.

Providing good maps and a personal itinerary for every party

You will be provided with Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 maps and an itinerary individually prepared for your party. This will provide details of what there is to see and do as well as identifying the best pubs and tearooms along the way. A recommended route is marked onto the maps as are route options which provide shortcuts or detours to visit additional points of interest. For each tour, three daily mileages are listed: Rec - The recommended route for the day. Min - The shortest alternative, but still using quiet lanes through beautiful countryside. Max - Assumes you take the longest option at each decision point along the way. This gives you the opportunity to decide for yourself how far you wish to walk each day.
