How does the luggage transport service work?

This service is a key part of making sure you have a really enjoyable, relaxing holiday, travelling light with just the bare essentials - camera, book, picnic etc.

In the morning, we pick up your bags containing anything that you do not need during the day and we'll have them waiting for you by late afternoon at your next night's halt.

  How far will I travel?

Mileages are listed on the detailed itinerary for each tour and are generally between 6 - 10 miles per day.

Accommodation is scarce on the beautifully unspoilt Heritage Coast so the minimum walks between hotels average 15 miles per day.

Gentle options are available on the coastal tours however. By using taxis (included in the price) we can break the journeys into smaller walks of between 6 and 11 miles per day.

How do you cater for children?

Cycling or walking can make an ideal family holiday provided the right distances are chosen for the younger members of the party. Please call us to discuss the most suitable tours for younger children.

Discounts are available. Please contact us for more information.

Will I be travelling in an organised group?

All our tours are self-guided allowing you and your party to travel at your own pace. You may encounter other parties either following the same or overlapping itineraries.

Free car parking is generally available at your first hotel for the duration of your holiday (please advise us as soon possible if this is required). Simply park- up when you arrive and enjoy the thought of no further driving until you depart.

How do I get to Suffolk from the London airports?
    London Stansted

Using train and connecting Rail-Air coach link, this service runs hourly (with 2 late afternoon exceptions) from 0510 to 2010. Overall, it takes approx. 90 minutes to our local station at Stowmarket; the return (round trip fare) is £13.40 per person. We can usually meet people from the station although it is not guaranteed (a taxi from Stowmarket to Needham Market would cost about £4).

Alternatively, we could arrange for a taxi to meet you at the airport. Journey time to Needham Market would be about an hour, cost would be £48 + parking charges (parking charges don't apply on airport drops).

London Heathrow

We are 75 minutes away from London Liverpool Street by train, with an hourly service (departing at 30 minutes past the hour). To get to Liverpool Street Station from Heathrow, either take the tube (about an hour total to Liverpool St), or the Heathrow Express to Paddington followed by a shorter tube journey (about 45 minutes total to Liverpool St). Total transfer time from Heathrow to Stowmarket is therefore 2 to 3.5 hours (depending on which route you take and how long you have to wait at the stations)
The cost of return (round trip) tickets from Heathrow to Stowmarket would be £49.90 using the Heathrow Express and £32.70 using the tube. These are off-peak fares, restricting you to leaving Liverpool St outside of the morning and evening peaks (peak fares are £66.20 and £49 per person respectively). We can usually meet people from Stowmarket station although it is not guaranteed (a taxi from Stowmarket to Needham Market would cost about £4).

Alternatively, we could arrange for a taxi to meet you at the airport. Journey time to our base would be 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending upon time of day; cost would be £85 (+ parking charges) for the car (parking charges don't apply on airport drops).

London Gatwick
